Flexible Graphite ---Graphite Yarn
Expanded graphite yarns are made of twists of low sulphur expanded combined with reinforcing materials, and are suitable for weaving of expanded graphite braided packings. There are a wide variety of reinforcing materials used in the yarn twisting of different working conditions, with included cotton yarn, fiberglass, carbonized fiber, wires of nickel alloy or stainless steel or copper.

Typical Applications
Carbon and graphite yarns are universally applied in the sealing industry as pump packing and valve packing materials. They are suitable as asbestos replacements at high temperatures, excessive shaft speeds and in corrosive media and are the ideal non-asbestos solutions for shaft seals. Because of their superior long-term stability, carbon and graphite yarns exceed the performance of organic fibrous materials. Carbon and graphite do not age and are universally resistant except to highly oxidizing media.
